The Sanctity of Life
A topical study — 12 lessons · Christian Ethics
Why is human life sacred? The Scriptures answer that man alone is made in the image of God, and that every life — from the child in the womb to the frail and the aged — bears that dignity and belongs to the One who gave it. This twelve-lesson study grounds a reverence for life in the teaching of God’s Word: the image of God in man, the wonder of life knit together in the womb, the commandment against shedding innocent blood, God’s tender concern for the weak and the vulnerable, the meaning of suffering, hope for the despairing, and the call to care for the orphan and the dying. It treats hard questions — abortion, euthanasia, despair, capital punishment, and war — soberly and biblically, and ends by calling the Lord’s people to build a culture of life marked by truth, compassion, and grace. A teacher’s guide accompanies every lesson.
Teachers: Each lesson has a matching Teacher's Guide with discussion notes, suggested answers, and supplementary cross-references.
